Read Psalms 2.
The Lord's plans cannot be changed. The Lord actually laughed at those who thought they could change His will. David is warning those who scoff at God's plans. He tells them they will perish and predicts the coming of Jesus. David offers the people a bit of hope; those who are faithful to the Son will find refuge in Him.
To me, refuge means safety, a place no harm will come to me, a place the King worries about everything, a place I can rest, a place of restoration. God is my refuge. That is amazing to me. I've known it, but I've never realized how big and awesome the refuge of God can be. It is said to be anxious for nothing but let your requests be known to God. Our God is amazing, and wants to give us rest, peace, restoration, and safety that surpasses all that we know. I cannot explain it, but it does happen, and I thank God for that.
Inspired song:
Lord, I want to kiss your Son.
Give me peace, give me rest.
Restore my soul, oh, God!
Lord, I cannot explain You.
I can feel Your refuge.
Restore my soul, oh, God!
Help me be faithful.
Help me be peaceful.
Help me be thankful.
Jesus, we wait for You.
